Matrix Labs is pleased to announce that we’ve integrated yet another two blockchains into our DEX Aggregator, Matrixswap. Moonbeam and Moonriver will be the 5th & 6th blockchains that you can now start trading. Matrix Labs continues to build a connected multi-chain architecture that allows you to swap tokens on popular blockchains.

What is Moonbeam & Moonriver?

Moonbeam is an Ethereum-compatible smart contract parachain on Polkadot. Moonbeam considers itself to be a highly specialized Layer 1 chain that mirrors Ethereum’s Web3 RPC, accounts, keys, subscriptions, logs, and more. Some extra features that make them stand apart include on-chain governance, staking, and cross-chain integrations.

There are a ton of projects already growing on Moonbeam which include Orion, Injective Protocol, The Graph, Covalent, and other popular projects.

Moonriver is also within Polkadot’s ecosystem. More specifically, Moonriver is a community-led sister parachain on Kusama, which is Polkadot’s canary network. Moonriver is a companion network to Moonbeam and provided a permanently incentivized canary network. New code is tested on Moonriver first and once proven, the same code ships to Moonbeam on Polkadot. This allows easier onramp to Kusama.
